Chicago Pedestrian Plan

How about actually having a well-timed light to cross at Clark/Elmdale(Peterson)? The light says don't walk by the time I'm only halfway across Clark. Too often I'm crossing the south side of Elmdale/Peterson across Clark and drivers turning left on to Clark from Peterson don't even bother to stop for pedestrians, I feel like I'm taking my life into my hands every time I cross the street. Change the lights for pedestrians to give them time to cross the street before those drivers start turning left, or start giving out tickets for people who think they don't have to stop or even slow down for pedestrians.

I feel much more safe cross streets downtown at rush hour than I do crossing that intersection at any hour.

I, too, have had the same experience crossing the street at Clark/Elmdale. Sometimes the drivers turning left almost touch the curb on the other side of the street as they're driving around and past me. I've had a few close calls while crossing this intersection.
