Tonight: Yogi Bear

Tonight kicks off the 48th Ward Outdoor Film Fest with a showing of Yogi Bear at the Senn High School park.  The movie will begin at 7:45PM on Elmdale, west of the playlot. 

Volunteer to assist Care for Real's move to new space

Edgewater's food pantry Care for Real is moving from their current location at 6044 N Broadway to new space at The Breakers on Broadway this weekend, and they could use your help!  Volunteers are needed to help pack, unpack, load, unload and organize the new space.  If you can lend a hand, sign up on this One Brick event website.  

Holy iPhone theft, Batman

According to multiple sources, there was another iPhone theft on the L last week.  A young man stole a woman's phone just after 5PM on Thursday, June 30th at the Berwyn station.  The suspect ran off the train and down the stairs as the woman was yelling that someone stole her iPhone.  A number of passengers chased the suspect and caught him in the alley next to the tracks and apprehended the man but at that point he had already handed the phone off to someone.  In addition, another man was apprehended by police in the Cedar Playlot park located on Winthrop just north of Berwyn.  Oddly, witnesses say there was a man dressed in a Batman suit at the scene near the playlot.  We're not sure how he factors into the whole story - does anyone have more info?

Help find Chief

“Chief” went missing on July 3^rd in the afternoon.

He is a small Bengal cat, 1.5 years old, with a tiger-like back and gray face and marbled black, gray and brown body and big, blue/green eyes.

He is wearing a blue collar with a small bell on it.  

He is very sweet and a little shy.

Happy 4th of July Weekend

We hope all of our readers have a very happy and safe weekend celebrating our country's Independence.  Its not often that we do this, but we will be taking a few days off from the site to relax and enjoy the long weekend.  But don't worry, we'll be back very soon!   Make sure to check back next week - we have some very exciting announcements to make about the future of the EdgeVille Buzz!!!
