Andersonville Farmer's Market kicks off tomorrow

The Andersonville Farmer's Market kicks off tomorrow from 3PM to 8PM and runs each Wednesday through October 19th.  The market features many of the great vendors from last year, as well as a few new vendors at the rotating vendor booths.  For a complete list of vendors, click here.

This year, a big change is the addition of the token system.  The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce booth can now process your credit/debit card in exchange for tokens that you can use throughout the market.  The LINK program has also converted to tokens this season. Here's how both will work:

Credit/Debit tokens are GREEN and can be used the same as cash at the market. Credit/debit tokens are worth $5 (there is a convenience fee of 25 cents per token to cover our processing costs) and change can be given by vendors for these tokens.

LINK tokens are BLUE and can be used to purchase Link approved items at participating booths. LINK tokens are worth $1 (no processing fee) and vendors cannot give change for these tokens.

BOTH tokens can be used at any time during the season. You don't have to spend them all at once - happy shopping!

The token system sounds TOO complicated and confusing. And I don't like the processing fee. I have just been handed another reason to AVOID the Andersonville farmer's market.

@Jackie - You are not required to use tokens - you can still pay cash as per usual. And the processing fee is MUCH cheaper than an ATM fee - $1.00 for $20 worth of tokens.
