7:01, 1522 W. Farwell - Graffiti just appeared on the building at this address, caller thinks the offender lives in the building.

7:15, Clark and Foster - Bakery reports that someone is intoxicated and causing a distrubance.

7:22, 1000 W. Pratt (beach) Owner is letting 2 dogs run all over the beach, one looks like a rat.

7:32, 1817 W. Hood - Burglary in progress. Caller said someone just entered an abandoned building at this address.

7:36, Foster Ave. Beach - Cars are drag racing in the south end of the parking lot.

7:57, 6344 N. Lakewood - 4 males loitering at this address.

8:29, Loyola Park - Male caller states that his Yamana Vino 125 scooter was stolen.

8:35, 4800 N. Damen - CVS Pharmacy employee called, said a black male in the store has a camera and just took a photo of a woman bending over. He went on to say that this guy has multiple photos of women in "provocative poses" on the camera. Not sure how he knows this detail.

8:55, 2700 W. Morse - Shots fired.

9:40, 5536 N. Artesian - Female caller says her 15 year old son was beaten up and robbed, he is refusing medical attention.

Rogers Park, Edgewater residents shoot down Friends of the Parks' lakefront plan

Residents were overwhelming against "Friends of the Parks" plans for the Last Four Miles Initiative, a plan to complete Daniel Burnham's 1909 design for 30 miles of continuous park land along the lakefront. Read more about it in this article from the Chicago Journal:

Real Estate Sales Slowdown in Edgewater

As real estate sales have come to a halting slowdown across the nation, it appears Edgewater is no exception. Some interesting facts from the Chicago Association of Realtors:

-145 units were sold in the first quarter of 2008.
- This represents the poorest sales since 1998, and a 20% from the same period last year.
- Sellers are seeing their homes on the market for an average of 154 days before selling.
- Average selling price is down 5% from the same period last year.

That being said, this is a great time for anyone looking to buy in our wonderful neighborhood!

11:23pm, Greenview & Sherwin - officer flagged down by person. Not sure yet what the situation is. Turns out people from the suburbs parked their car here and their vehicle was broken into and things (inlcuding a GPS system) were stolen. Welcome to the city!

11:31pm, 2450 W Peterson - commercial alarm going off. Backup requested. Officer declined backup as this alarm aparently goes off frequently.

11:33pm, 1438 W Pratt - Domestic disturbance.

11:33pm, 1434 W Pratt - Large group of people drinking. Lady is laying on the sidewalk intoxicated. Do not believe this is related to the incident above.

11:40pm, 5425 N Ravenswood - Officers going into a residence with a warrant to arrest someone.

11:43pm, 5050 N Sheridan - Homeless black male hanging out in front of the building.

7:33, 1016 W. Ainslie - Gang loitering, 5 suspects dispersed.

6:38, Devon and Western - White male with a small sword chasing a black male, witness says they went southbound on Artesian.

6:43, Broadway and Bryn Mawr - Battery in progress, 3-4 people fighting on the corner. Unit giving a slowdown.

7:20, 6257 N. Rockwell - Robbery call. 78 year old man said a male black in his 20s pushed him to the ground and went through his pockets.

7:20, Bryn Mawr and Ridge - Kids throwing rocks at people, they just hit someone in the head and took off running.

7:33, 5448 N. Broadway - Report of shots fired in the alley. Unit doing a slowdown, offender may have run south on Winthrop.

Wednesday afternoon

3:31pm, 1100 W Berwyn (Berwyn/Winthrop) - white male causing disturbance in front of the Laundromat. Man may have mental disturbance, is yelling "I know I am ugly, I have mirrors, I know I am ugly but I cannot change that" violently at the top of his lungs. Children present in the area.

3:34pm, 5615 N Mozart - Woman making verbal threats to family that she takes care of their children for.

3:36pm, 6100 N Sheridan - shots fired. Caller heard gunshots. One caller only. Slowdown requested.

3:40pm - Lots of trouble with the radios today. Apparently some of the cars got new radios and they were not properly installed. Some units have not been responding to calls.

3:41pm, Howard & Bosworth - Battery in progress. Black male fighting with a black female.

3:43pm, Kenmore & Berwyn - Battery in progress. Caller (owner of a store) is being harrassed. The assailant is constantly putting his hands in his pockets, owner isnt sure if he has a gun or weapon.

3:47pm, Marine & Gunnison - Bike rider hit by CTA bus. Injury reported.

4:06pm, 5290 N Ridge - Domestic disturbance. Mothers son is acting violently and destroying the house.

4:13pm, Sheridan & Morse - Assault in progress, female with a gun on the street. Caller says that originally female was threatening to throw bleach on her, now she has a gun. Now multiple calls on this incident.

4:24pm, 5200 N Lincoln - Disturbance at Walgreens. Intoxicated male laying in a parking space.

6:16 - DUI driver reported northbound on Sheridan Rd. from Ardmore Ave. Driver and 2 passengers are drinking in a blue Toyota.

6:40, Bryn Mawr and Sheridan - Intoxicated female stumbling down the street.

6:56, 5527 N. Kenmore Ave. - Burglary reported.

8:01 - Silver Audi traveling north on Sheridan from Foster, occupant in the car reportedly pulled a gun.

8:03, Hollywood and Sheridan - Unit has the Audi stopped.

SHOOTING @ 1105 W. Berwyn Ave.

Thanks to Craig G for the tip. Apparently there was a shooting at 1105 W. Berwyn Ave. on Sunday night (6/15/08). One man was shot. I do not have any further details, nor can I find anything in the news. If you have any further info, please share with us in the Comments section.

Recently, a fire closed a popular new restaurant in the neighborhood - Pepitone's, located at 5437 N Broadway. Pepitone's was a welcome addition to the neighborhood, and recently won the distinction of "Best New Restaurant in 2007." Does anyone have any updates if they plan to reopen?

9:48, 1710 W Albion - Disturbance reported. Loud music coming from a parked minivan, people are loitering.

10:05, 5240 N Kenmore - Domestic domestic disturbance. Caller was from Washington, apparently the father, who called and said his son called him and told him that his girlfriend was hitting/beating him. EMS has been called to this same location.

8:21AM, 6214 N Clark - criminal tresspassing.

8:24AM, Ravenswood & Lawrence - Yellow cab driver has a passenger who does not want to pay.

8:27AM, 6214 N Clark - Police did not find the reported tresspasser, however when searching the area the bar named "Kitty Moon" had its back door unlocked. Requested a call to the bar owner to lock up the door.

8:30AM, 4877 N Broadway - burglary at Dong Ky(?) Chineese restaurant.

8:31AM, 7366 N Winchester - Thresholds - residents will not leave the facility for therapy.

8:32AM, 6661 N Clark - cameras reporting black Mitsubishi parked in tow zone with suspicious activity.

8:33AM, follow up to 8:24AM post -- no Yellow Cab taxi in the vacinity. Officer assuming the dispute was resolved and the cabbie was paid.

8:14, 5357 N. Ravenswood Ave. - Assault in progess, woman says she is being threatened by another female. Looks like we've got more crap going on in the 5300 block of Ravenswood. Does anyone know what the deal is over there?

8:20, 5357 N. Lakewood Ave. - Domestic disturbance, woman is having difficulty removing a male from the location. This is the first activity I've heard in the Lakewood/Balmoral district.

5448 N. Broadway - Nursing home at this locations reports one of their aides was struck with a baseball bat.

8:30, Balmoral and Wayne - Officer requests that another unit meet her in the alley there.

8:50, Foster and Ashland - Intoxicated man down.

7-8 PM, A Pretty Slow Hour
