Friday, June 10, 2011, around 10:34 p.m., a possible carjacking or a kidnapping was reported on the 5900 block of North Lakewood Avenue near Lakewood and Elmdale.At approximately 10:37 p.m., cops were on the scene.
A 911 caller saw two Hispanic men pulling a woman from a gray or black SUV at 5952 North Lakewood in Edgewater, said police. Officers searched the area, but couldn’t find the gray or black SUV and there was no sign of the victim.
An officer at the scene repeatedly asked dispatch for a "callback number". The officer wanted to speak to the person who reported the incident. A female dispatch operator told the officer he would have to request the callback number from her supervisor. "I don't make the rules", said the operator. At 11:06 p.m., police announced they were looking to a Toyota Rav4.One of the men involved in the incident was described as a large Hispanic man.
At the time of this report, it was unclear if police were investigating a kidnapping or a carjacking.

this is disturbing, as just the other day coming home from work at 5am there was a group of hispanic men lurking in the door ways of the corner of Olive and Clark. Looks like safe nights are now a thing of the past.
I know when Dispatch has the number listed as Anonymous they don't have access to the number at all. I only heard the tail end of that exchange last night.
Did you also notice last night that there seemed to be a lot of Anonymous calls that lead to cops going to calls that seemed to be false ones.
There was also the public Roll Call, and then a shooting that happened right around the same time in Rogers Park. I only heard bits of that one as well (was working on a major project for parts of last night so wasn't always paying good attention).
