I have to go to class tonight, but according to this article, they want to close thorndale. http://www.wbez.org/story/chicago-transit-authority/cta-considers-closing-stops-north-lines
I think that's not a bad idea. I hope they don't close foster in Evanston, it's a little closer to the northwestern campus, even if it is a little scary at night.

I hope they don't close Thorndale, the train is the only thing keeping the shopping district alive and the only thing keeping police around to stop the drug dealing and gang activity!

We have come so far, I hope they don't give up on the area!

Let's see ... library, high school, elementary school, park district facility, grocery store. Yeah, let's close Thorndale. That's smart. If any station should be closed it's Granville. That would leave Bryn Mawr, Thorndale and Loyola just about/sorta-kinda evenly spaced. Close Thorndale and you have another Sheridan-to-Wilson six-block stretch of no station. This is the el, not Metra. It's supposed to be slow and stop a lot in a dense neighborhood. Don't misunderstand me -- I don't want either station to be closed.

If they close Thorndale, they should hold two ceremonies ... a funeral for the retail businesses there and then an official ceremony during which they hand the street over to the thugs and install brown "North Pole" honorary street signs. They can train the thugs on how to shoot properly, so the Swift kids and people using the Armory don't get clipped by a wild bullet.

My commute will totally suck if they close the proposed stations. I get on at Thorndale and get off at Foster up in Evanston. I'll definitely be writing a comment about the proposed closures.

Although I often feel like a fish swimming upstream when I'm heading to the El in the mornings and the high school students are walking to Senn, but what do they expect them to do? Walk along Ridge? That seems far more dangerous.
