Man shot in drive-by on North Side

A male was shot multiple times in a drive-by in the Edgewater neighborhood early this morning.
At 2:50 a.m., a male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body from a drive-by in the 5600 block of North Ashland Avenue, according to a release from police News Affairs.
He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was listed in "stable" condition.
No other information was immediately available.
No one was in custody and Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
UPDATE: The Chicago News Report states that these shootings occured on Broadway, and some of our Facebook followers report hearing shots on Broadway as well. It is likely the Tribune is incorrect listing this incident on Ashland.

It's the "nice" weather, I suppose. Seriously, this is getting to be a problem when another shooting occurs LESS than a week later at the SAME spot... I think it's time to take back OUR neighborhood from these gangs who have been making themselves entirely too comfortable.

Folks, we simply cannot let the gangs bring their turf war up into Edgewater. Call 911 everytime you even think you heard what MIGHT have been gunshots, see anything suspicious, see gang bangers loitering, etc. It has been my fear for years that if the gangs get driven out of Uptown, they will simply head a dozen blocks North and bring their WAR to our neighborhood.
Definition of a gangbanger from Urban Dictionary:
A lowlife looser that has joined or is willing to join a street gang. These people tend to group up and try to control a certain area. In many ways they are very much like cockroaches, for example both come out mostly at night and when the temperature is warm, they both eat scraps, they are both good runners and good climbers and both deserve to be squashed. Gang bangers often kill innocent people with little or no remorse, and unfortunately cops can be too lazy, corrupt, or indifferent to do anything about it. Gangbangers are all criminals, they destroy private property, they steal all the time, they sell drugs, they do drugs, and they do any crime they possibly can. Luckily the lifespan of a gangbanger is somewhat low, but while they are alive they are a threat to innocent citizens. Gangbangers can be from any race, mostly minority races, but there are many white gangbangers who are just as bad and cockroach-like.
Gangbangers often dress with their pants half way down their asses and tend to have many tattoos, and many have shaved heads. Gangbangers have a strange dialect, and writing where it is hard to understand what they are talking about.
At times gangbangers aim to kill rival gangbangers but with their elementary school education, and aim their guns sideways (which looks gay) they miss and hit a poor bystander.

Explosion kills three, fortunately those three were all dangerous gangbangers so it ended up saving many more lives.
Gangbangers are like any other pest like cockroaches and rats, only that gangbangers are much more dangerous and not as smart as cockroaches and rats.
@rae: It's Chicago's version of "diversity". Embrace it.
In the meantime, conduct a little informal survey of the GLTBTIzxy123's that have ever even been in the Swedish American Museum (knowing where it's located doesn't count) or why there's nothing Swedish about the "Midsommerfest". I'm not Swedish but I would be hard pressed to believe their idea of a street festival consisted of "hipsters" OD'd on the public way checking for their own pulse.
