New 400 Theater

We've mentioned this a while back, but for our newer readers: did you know that there is a movie theater right off the Loyola stop of the Red Line in Rogers Park? The New 400 Theater is located at 6746 N Sheridan. While they may not have the latest 3D, stadium seating or impressive sound systems that some of the larger theaters have, New 400 has super low prices, friendly employees, serves adult beverages, and has that old school small theater feel. Check 'em out! This weekend's showtimes:

Rio: 1:00*, 3:40, 6:15, 8:30
Scream 4: 1:25*, 3:50, 6:35, 9:15
Your Highness: 1:30*, 4:00, 6:30, 9:20
Source Code: 1:15*, 3:30, 5:35, 7:40, 9:45

You mean you are only just now hearing about the 400 Theater?

It has been open for well over a year now, and all we Rogers Park bloggers posted announcements of one sort or the other.

No, as mentioned in the first line of our post, we've posted it before but are posting again for new readers.

I love this theater. It is nice to see new businesses in Roger's Park/Edgewater. It appears to be locally/family-owned as well. Is this true?
Cheers :)

Something else you guys may not know is that there is a new movie theatre going to open on 53rd street in hyde park, it will be run by the same operators as the new 400, so likely the same type of business model.

Very cool

Yes, Jeffo, I see Craiggers took down his blog.

Now that he's decided he like Joe Moore, he doesn't have anything to write about.

But who am I to talk? I have written way less than I'd like on my own, thanks to way too many personal distractions. I'm working on a couple of pieces but can't muster the concentration to write them well, because I'm looking for another job, AND working on an entrepreneurial project of my own.

And other prominent RP bloggers are doing a lot of work on personal and community projects. People like Kheris and Fargowoman aren't talking now, they are actually DOING things.

The first film I ever saw in a theater in Chicago (Vertigo) was at this location, when it was called the Village North. Back then it was an arthouse. There was a fantastic coffee shop next door called the Atomic Cafe. Ah, memories...
