Police Arrest Suspect Who Robbed 3 Edgewater Businesses At Gunpoint

The man who was suspected of robbing three Edgewater businesses last week has been arrested by police and is charged with two felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm.

Police apprehended 26-year-old Stanley Krzak outside of his Edgewater home on the 5400 block of N. Broadway. Oddly, Krzak chose to attack neighborhood businesses close to his residence, including one robbery which was just a block away.

Krzak was positively identified as the suspect who held up the 7-Eleven at 1055 W. Bryn Mawr on Sunday morning Nov. 25 at 12:09 a.m. He was also identified as the man who robbed the Pizza Hut at 5320 N. Broadway on Monday Nov. 26 at 9:05 p.m. In both incidents, Krzak pointed a hand gun at the cashier, demanded money and fled the scene with cash.

Police also believe Krzak is the man responsible for the robbery on Sunday at 5:10 p.m. at the Andersonville Walgreens at 5440 N. Clark. Police are still gathering evidence to link him to the crime.

Krzak is a convicted felon with recents arrested including at least two in 2017 for domestic battery and retail theft.
