The Holidays Are Here (And So Is Santa) At The Northside North Pole Parade

Edgewater is gearing up for another great Holiday event with the Northside North Pole Parade. Attendees will help stir up festive spirit with a little help from the grand marshal – Santa himself!

Sponsored by the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, the event will be held tomorrow (Saturday, Dec. 1) and check in will begin at the Bryn Mawr CTA Red Line Stop on the south side between 3:30-4 p.m. Santa will meet participants at the station and the parade will commence between 4-4:45 p.m. and will head East to Kenmore, cross North and head West along Bryn Mawr to Broadway. The route will stop at several businesses along the way that will have special treats and activities for old and young alike. To help keep spirits bright, Lakeside Pride Music Ensemble brass band will join the parade as it winds down Bryn Mawr.

Participants will then head South to the Lytle House at 5517 N. Broadway for free milk & cookies from Edge of Sweetness,  free warm cider courtesy of Conn’s Catering, hear youth carolers sing and enjoy holiday crafts courtesy of RAM Art Studio. Attendees can get a special photo taken with Santa too. TK Photography is providing one free digital picture with Santa and offer the opportunity to purchase a print through them for $15.

There will also be a Care For Real Holiday toy drive at the Lytle House from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on the day of the event. You can drop off donations in the labeled depot box with new, unwrapped toys to help brighten up a child-in-need’s Holiday season. Monetary gift certificates with values of $10 or higher are also welcomed.

The Northside North Pole Parade is free and open to the public. Because the event is outdoors, please dress warmly.
