All Northbound Red Line Trains To Go Express Sheridan To Howard This Weekend

cta3If you’re planning on riding the red line this weekend you might want to rethink your travel plans. The CTA has put out a customer alert that they will be performing track construction for the Wilson Station Reconstruction Project.

This scheduled work means that all northbound trains will run express from Sheridan to Howard this weekend. Trains will start running express at 10 p.m. Friday evening through 4 a.m. Monday morning. At the Sheridan station, Howard-bound trains will stop at their normal platform, but board/exit trains on the outer tracks instead of the inner tracks.

All northbound passengers that regularly stop at Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale, Granville, Loyola, Morse or Jarvis will have to take the express train to Howard then transfer to a 95th-bound train. That southbound train will make all regular stops at these stations.

For alternate routes during this time, the CTA has suggested using the #22 Clark, #36 Broadway, #147 Outer Drive Express, or #151 Sheridan buses, which run parallel to the Red Line. The #22 Clark buses will run at all times and the #151 Sheridan buses will also run overnight, northbound only, between Sheridan Red Line station and Clark/Devon.

The CTA also suggests to allow extra time for travel.
