Final Reservations Are Being Taken As Hamburger Mary’s Says Goodbye To Andersonville

After nearly 15 years serving up hamburgers, cocktails and some lively drag, Hamburger Mary’s will be closing its Andersonville location along with its upstairs bar and entertainment space Mary’s Attic.

But for those that need one last fix of the comfort food at their 5400 N. Clark location, they will be taking final reservations for seating as well as the “Dining with the Divas” shows. According to their social media posts put out yesterday,  they officially plan to close on Nov. 1.

Hamburger Mary’s future at the current Chicago location has been in question since the storefront was listed for sale in August of 2019. Citing increasing rents in the neighborhood, they were looking to move to a different part of the city.

The COVID-19 outbreak and subsequent loss of business has fast-tracked that plan according to the restaurant’s owners. They are hopeful to start looking for the new Chicago home for the hamburger chain in Spring.

“We want to thank everyone who has helped make Hamburger Mary’s a special place for almost 15 years… the staff, the entertainment, and especially our guests,” said Hamburger  Mary’s management. “We’ve enjoyed serving the community and providing a safe place to eat, drink, and be Mary!”

The restaurant will be open regular hours during its final days.
