Cantina 1910 Hires New Executive Chef Scott Shulman

Scott Shulman-2Back in September 2015, Cantina 1910 located at 5025 N. Clark opened to much hype in their completely remodeled space. They were praised by critics but the online Yelp community was not as nice. Then after three months at the helm, Executive Chef Diana Davila abruptly quit taking Chef de Cuisine Aaron Covert and Executive Sous Chef Alison Denton along with her.

Looking to move forward, it was announced today in a press release by Cantina 1910 that they have hired new Executive Chef Scott Shulman.

Shulman who was born and raised in Southern California, initially planned a career in the film industry. However, his passion for food took over and he eventually moved to New York City to pursue a degree in culinary arts from the International Culinary Center.

Since then, Shulman has worked in top-rated restaurants such as Michelin starred Hatfield’s in Los Angeles and Michelin starred Caelis in Barcelona, Spain.

.In the Cantina 1910 release they wrote, “Ready to apply his cumulative culinary knowledge, Shulman is now ready to take the helm at Cantina 1910. He brings with him a passion for cooking with love and pride and looks forward to continuing the restaurant’s mission of reinventing traditional Mexican dishes using regionally sourced ingredients.”

There was no mention to his exact start date.
