Man Shot Last Night On Kenmore In Edgewater

gunA 25-year-old man was shot last night on the 5700 block of N. Kenmore Ave.

Around 11 p.m. the victim was approached by another man who fired several shots at him. He was hit several times by the gunshots. Multiple shell casings could be seen at the taped off crime scene after the incident.

The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and his condition has since stabilized.

Many EVB readers reported to our Facebook page about hearing multiple shots fired. One reader told us, “the shooter fled down Sheridan in a dark green SUV. I heard about 8 or 9 shots… I live right there.”

There have been no reports of any arrests in the case but Chicago detectives are investigating.

    Wow, another shooting in the Hollywood/Thorndale-Sheridan/Broadway corridor. I wonder if drugs/gangs were involved. Seriously, I’m about this close (holding thumb and index finger together) to calling Mr. Ostermann’s office every single day to get some specifics on what the city is doing to clamp down on the seemingly never-ending gang war that’s going on in that half-square mile of the city. I can’t wait till The Ostermann Block Safety Road Show hits my part of Edgewille.

    There were 9 shots… My fiance and I had just gone to bed when we heard them… One, followed by a very brief pause, and then 8 fired off in quick succession. Gang related?
