Two Anticipated New Andersonville Restaurants Open Their Doors This Week

The diverse types of food served along the Andersonville strip are well known to both locals and Chicagoans alike. Adding to the mix, two anticipated restaurants are opening their doors this week.

A new Korean restaurant that draws influence from Italian cuisine is opening at 5420 N. Clark, a space that housed a string of restaurants over the last several years including In Fine Spirits, Brixton and Taverna 750. Passerotto is the idea of Jennifer Kim who owned the former Snaggletooth in Lakeview. Opening on Thursday, the 42-seat restaurant will also offer beer, small production wine and craft cocktails inspired by both Korea and Italy.

Another Andersonville restaurant opened this past weekend. Furious Spoon at 5406 N. Clark is what owner and executive chef Shin Thompson calls a hip-hop ramen restaurant. The vibe is unapologetically urban and the food sometimes takes flavors not often found in your typical bowl of noodles. The 1000 sq. ft space will be a quick service eatery where one orders food at the counter and then it is brought to your table once prepared. They will be able to sit about 25 inside in addition to a  small outdoor patio in the front.
