Man Escapes Injury After Being Cornered By Masked Men In Andersonville

A man who was sitting in his car on the North end of the Andersonville neighborhood was blocked in by masked men. He managed to escape unharmed, but his vehicle was damaged in the incident.

According to an email released by Alderman Patrick O’Connor, the man was approached by two masked men in his car after they attempted to block him in on the 1600 block of W. Rosehill Dr.  on May 3 at 11:51 p.m. The suspects tapped on the passenger windows on both sides, but the victim was able to speed away in his vehicle.

As he fled the scene to a nearby police station to report the incident, the back glass of his car shattered. Police later found shell casings at the scene.

The men, who were possibly Hispanic, were wearing dark bandanas on their faces (one had polka dots on it). The car they were driving was described only as a minivan/suv.

Alderman O’Connor said that the investigation is ongoing and an increase in police presence has been implemented in the area. There was no further information given about the incident.
