Police Arrest Man Who Is Suspect In Recent String Of Burglaries In Edgewater and Andersonville

A man was arrested last week by Chicago Police after a burglary at a Bryn Mawr Ave. business. According to the 48th Ward office, the man is also believed to be involved in the string of burglaries that affected Andersonville, Edgewater, and Uptown during the Holiday season.

The suspect was arrested after an burglary on January 4 at Little India restaurant at 1109 W. Bryn Mawr. Because the incident is currently under investigation, no other information was given by police.

The 48th Ward’s Public Safety Liaison Alan Oviedo did say the man is actively being investigated for other recent burglaries in the area. Those incidents received much attention after many popular Andersonville and Edgewater establishments were targeted in late November and December including First Slice Cafe, Big Jones and Colectivo Coffee.

Oviedo added that their office will continue to alert the community as more information about the situation becomes available.
