Police Issue Alert Concerning Violent Armed Robberies In Edgewater

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) put out a community alert concerning a string of armed robberies in Edgewater and Rogers Park. The incidents appear to be by the same team of four criminals.

According to the CPD, the group of men locate victims while driving. They exit the vehicle, approach the individual while displaying handguns and demand the victim’s personal belongings. During the robberies, they have struck the victims then fled the scene in a black Toyota RAV4.

Police have linked at least two incidents to the group of men. Both occurred on July 29 in close approximately to each other.  The first robbery happened around 2 p.m. on the 5600 block of N. Broadway. The second robbery was at 8:11 p.m. on the 7000 block of N Sheridan.

The suspects are described as four black men aged between 18- 25 years of age. They are said to have slender builds weighing between 140-160 pounds and standing 5’8”- 5’10” tall.
