Andersonville Midsommerfest To Add Elevated VIP Viewing Area For Concerts

Photo: Andersonville Chamber

The concerts at Andersonville Midsommerfest are a big draw at the event, but the crowds can cause a problematic quest for the nearest beer booth or bathroom. To help eliminate the issue, a new elevated VIP platform is being added to the North stage.

The line-up is diverse at the North stage with such band favorites as Catfight, Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press and Mucca Pazza. But it’s those cover bands that pack them in such as 16 candles who will be playing there both Friday and Sunday nights.

The VIP platform will give concert goers a dedicated space with a prime view of the stage. It runs along the Walgreens side of Clark near North Stage and will have elevated viewing, barstools, hi-top tables, a private bar, a private bathroom and discounted beer.

“We wanted to offer a different experience for our attendees as well as be able to give our sponsors an added benefit of sponsoring the event, said Joelle Scillia who is the Director of Marketing for the organization that puts on the event – the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. “The area in front of the stage gets packed and the beer booth is hard to access through the sea of people. We are hoping to attract folks that might want the comfort of a chair for the evening or a table to rest their plate of food from one of our amazing vendors on the fest. It will make the experience a whole lot easier. The bar and restroom are more accessible, plus it’s just fun.”

Proceeds from Midsommarfest will not only be going to the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce to help support their yearly programming, Senn High School has also been selected as this year’s gate donation recipient.

“Senn High School is our gate donation beneficiary and we will be donating a portion of the gate donations back to the Senn Arts program,” Scillia added.  “Senn High school Students will be working our Summerdale gates on Saturday between 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. All of our beer booths are staffed by non-profit organizations who receive a donation based on the number of volunteers they provide for Midsommarfest. This year we are proud to support over 10 non-profits.”

The 2018 Midsommarfest will be held June 8 from 5-10 p.m. and June 9-10 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. The VIP viewing are will be available all 3 days. VIP wristbands are available in a few different formats including $50 for the 3-day all access weekend pass or single day VIP wristbands for $25 each.
