Edgewater 7-Eleven Employee Protects Woman After She Was Brutally Attacked

Dameon Traylor

A woman who was walking near Bryn Mawr was brutally attacked during a robbery. However, an area convenience store employee may have saved her from further injury after she fled the scene of the attack.

The incident took place around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4 on the 5500 block of N. Kenmore. According to police, 22-year-old Dameon Traylor from Mount Vernon grabbed the women by her backpack and pushed her to the ground during the robbery. As the women tried to get up to flee the scene, Traylor continued to knock her down and started to punch her in the face.

As the victim lied on the ground with injuries, Traylor began going through her backpack and eventually left the scene. The victim got up and ran to the nearby 7-Eleven store at 1055 W Bryn Mawr and was once was again followed by Traylor.

It was then that a 7-Eleven employee took quick action and locked the front door to protect the woman. Several witnesses then called authorities. When police arrived at the store, Traylor was standing in front with the victim’s cell phone in his hand.

Traylor, who has had several previous arrests over the few years, was charged by Judge David Navarro with felony robbery and was held without bail. He is scheduled back in court today.
