Andersonville Farmer’s Market Starts Off This Year With New Vendors And Events

With Spring in full swing, Andersonville once again welcomes the return of its farmer’s market. The growing popularity of the weekly event will get a fresh dose of variety with new vendors and events for 2017.

The market starts next Wednesday, May 10 and will continue each week from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. through  August 30 and 3 p,m -7 p.m. September 6 through October 18 on Berwyn Ave. between Clark and Ashland.

This year, look for an many new vendors such as Amazing Kale Burger, Windmill Ginger Beer and Koenig Sausage. New farmers are also in the works including Midnight Sun, Wild Beet, and Nichols farm.

“The Aville vendor mix is unique. We have folks that you can’t find at many of the other area markets. We work very hard to have a vendor mix that offers our shoppers a great range of options and feels supportive and successful for our vendors too,” said Joan Oberndorf, Andersonville Farmer’s Market Manager. “And we’re very committed to staying local in the market as well as the business district. Everything at our market has been grown or produced within 200 miles of the market.”

Expect to see the great entertainment and events typical at the market. Also this year, the market will team up with your favorite area restaurants to further showcase the neighborhood.

Oberndorf added, “Personally, I love hanging out at the market! I love the mix of sights, sounds, and smells. There’s something so great about listening to one of our great entertainers, shopping for amazing produce and prepared foods, and enjoying a delicious snack or meal. It’s a great place to visit!”
