After Baker Miller’s Short Stint In Edgewater, Popular Lakeview Cafe Will Take Over The Space

After Kitchen Sink owner Jeff Fox quietly sold the long-running Edgewater Cafe at 1107 W. Berwyn, Baker Miller owners Dave and Megan Miller took the leap to open their next location in the space. It was short lived operation though, as they closed after just three months in business. Now, Lakeview Rewired Cafe has announced they will open their second location there.

Lakeview Rewired Cafe’s space at 3508 N. Broadway has been serving that neighborhood for years, but in 2017 Daniel Barat took over the restaurant. They describe the business as a community cafe with products which are almost completely sourced from Chicago-area vendors.

In fact, many of their products come from Andersonville’s Defloured Bakery at 1477 W. Balmoral including their fruit bars, oat bars and cookies. The Lakeview location currently offers a wide range of coffee options priced from $2.50-$5.50 and sells many types of muffins, bagels and pastries. They also offer breakfast and lunch options such as quiche, grilled cheese sandwiches and paninis that range between $5-$10. Expect to see see many of those items sold in their new Edgewater location as well.

With blue Holiday wrapping paper currently covering the windows, Lakeview Rewired management has been tight-lipped about what (if any) changes the space will be undergoing. According to their Facebook page, they are expected to open in early 2019.
