Andersonville Businesses Team Up For Valentines With 14% Of Sales Going To Charity

Andersonville is all about the love and this weekend a wide range of neighborhood businesses will team up and donate 14% of their sales to select charities.

In 2017, Milk Handmade (5137 N. Clark) owner Hallie Borden started With Love From Andersonville in response to the ever apparent bigotry, racism, and sexism that exists in the country. So in order to help the marginalized members of our community, she is banding once again with area restaurants and shops to donate to specific charities who help service those individuals.

“Heading into our 4th With Love season, this event has grown to represent so much more,” said Borden about the program. “It’s about using our voice as small business owners to stand up for the values our neighborhood represents — to me, that’s inclusivity, community, and boldness. This is a great time to remind our customers that they vote with their dollars, and that supporting a small business puts their money to good use.”

The event will take place Feb. 14-16 and local businesses will be donating their proceeds on select days or the whole weekend. Look for the With Love From Andersonville logo with the name of the local charity recipient on the doors of participating shops. For every purchase you make they will donate 14% of sales to that non-profit.

In Addition, there will be a a Business Attire Donation Drive for local charity Care For Real to help give those that need items for job interviews, professional development, or a “Dress for Success” confidence boost. They are looking for business formal, business professional, or business casual items that are clean, with no rips, tears, stains, or smells. Drop Locations include: Helix Cafe (6237 N Clark),  US Bank (5340 N Clark), Andersonville Chamber of Commerce (5217 N Clark apt 3), Milk Handmade (5137 N Clark), Pearle Vision (4814 N Clark).
