Andersonville Bank Gets Hit With A Lunchtime Robbery

An Andersonville bank was robbed over the weekend and now the FBI has released a photo as they seek help in identifying the suspect.

The incident happened Saturday, Feb. 8 around 11:12 a.m. at the First Third Bank at 5501 N. Ashland. The suspect walked into the bank, handed a note to the teller and left the building with an undisclosed amount of money. There was no other information given or if there was a weapon involved.

According to the FBI, the suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20’s, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-seven tall, and about 190 pound. He had a goatee at the time of the robbery and was wearing a black hat, black hoodie, jeans, black gloves.

The FBI is seeking the public’s help to find the robber and is offering a reward of up to $1,000 if that tip leads to an arrest. Call the FBI’s Chicago office at 312-421-6700.
