Andersonville Businesses Team Up To Help Raise Final Funds For The Water Tower

watertowerWho could forget the harsh winter of 2014! One of the victims of that season was an icon of the Andersonville community, the water tower of the historic Swedish American Museum. Structural and safety concerns as a result of that winter required that the water tower be taken down.

Since then, donors large and small along with fundraising events have been held in order to restore the water tower to its place in Andersonville. Now, almost two years later, funds for this project are within sight. The goal of the Swedish American Museum was to raise $150,000. They are now $30,000 short of that goal.

So in typical Andersonville fashion, Brimfield at 5219 N. Clark decided to host a fundraiser to support this worthy cause. “We have never hosted a fundraiser,” says Brimfield owner Jeff Fernstrom. “We had no idea how much was involved. We started this process about two months ago.”

But also in typical Andersonville fashion, neighborhood businesses have come together to help Brimfield with their cause. Says Jeff Fernstrom, “Please join us for an evening with Live Music from Andersonville band The VandaBobs, small bites from My Private Chef, Giordano’s, Lady Gregory and Complimentary Cocktails from Stolen and In Fine Spirits.”

Who would have thought of having a fundraiser in the exhibit space above Brimfield, a home décor store? Jeff is proud of the store and the exhibit space above it. “We do weddings and all kinds of events,” Jeff says. To view the exhibit space, go to
