As the new school year ramps up, Senn High School is in search of tutoring and mentoring volunteers. Tutoring runs from 3-4 PM Monday through Thursday in Senn’s library. Volunteers will be matched up with several students, and would commit to one hour per week. Mentoring also runs Monday through Friday, with mentors being partnered up with a single student based on shared interests. Sessions will take place before and after school or during the student’s lunch period. Mentoring volunteers would commit to 3-4 hours per month. If you’re interested in taking part, feel free to email elizabethjshank [at] gmail.com for more information!

When I tried to offer help at Senn, about two years ago, I had to fill out many pages of forms, get a tb test, and give my personal history.   After turning in the completed file, I never heard from them again.  When groups need volunteers, the group should prove it by courtesy at least.
