2 Teenagers Sought After 4 Armed Robberies In The Ridge Ave. Area Saturday

Chicago police issued an alert yesterday to warn area residents about a series of four armed robberies all committed in about one hour Saturday evening. No one was injured during the incidents.

Two teenagers are being sought in connection to the crimes which took place on several streets around Ridge Ave. in Edgewater. According to authorities, the suspects approached the victims, displayed a handgun and demanded they turn on their cell phones and disable tracking. They then grabbed the victims’ devices and money before fleeing the scene.

Police say the first attempted robbery at 7:09 p.m. on the 5800 block of N. Paulina failed and the offenders ran northbound on Paulina.

Then minutes later at 7:33 p.m. the suspects struck again. This time a man was robbed on the 1700 block of W. Peterson.

Twelve minutes later at 7:45 p.m. the suspects targeted a women after jumping out of a white SUV on the 5600 block of N. Glenwood.

Finally, a delivery man was robbed at gunpoint on the 1400 block of W. Edgewater.

Chicago police say the two male suspects are between 15 and 18 years of age. One was described as 5-foot-6, 160 pounds and wore a black hooded jacked, dark jeans and a surgical mask. He displayed a black handgun during the robberies.

The other suspect is described as between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-2, 160 pounds and wore a black hooded jacket, black pants and a mask. He displayed a silver hand gun.
