Superstar Ke$ha Cancels Gig In Rogers Park/Edgewater

Ke$ha Cancels On Loyola

It was a dream come true for Loyola students. Popular recording artist Ke$ha was confirmed to play a gig on the Rogers Park/Edgewater campus during their Colossus music and comedy festival scheduled for March 15-16. According to DNA, it took months to book the star  who is popular for big mega hits including the current top 10 “Timber” with rapper Pit Bull. However everything came crashing down when she canceled the intimate show.

Sources say Ke$ha entered rehab for a eating disorder in the beginning of February. She released a statement explaining:

“I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my doctor’s advice and get my health back on track. All of your support during this time has been so amazing. I couldn’t have done this without you all. I look forward to coming back stronger than ever on the next tour.”

The students at Loyola seem to not be so forgiving. It cost Loyola a huge premium to get the star to the small 5,000 occupancy Gentile Arena. This was the students opportunity to see a big name in our neighborhood for as little as $12 per ticket. The University is now scrambling to find a big name replacement, but the chances are very low.
