Popular Milwaukee-Based Coffee Roaster Eyeing New Andersonville Location

Small businesses have been looking at the possibilities of opening new stores in Andersonville for some time now and it seems as though the gourmet coffee cafes are growing increasingly eager. With the neighborhood in need of their next caffeine fix, a small chain coffee roaster has their eyes set on the area.

According to the Chicago Eater, Colectivo Coffee is looking at a property in the 5400 block of North Clark. They were told that the company is “looking to expand and possibly open a central bakery to serve more Chicago locations.” In addition, a rep for the brand attended a Evanston zoning meeting and ‘spilled the beans’ about the Andersonville location and another at 716 Church Street in Evanston.

Colectivo Coffee owns 13 stores in Milwaukee, three in Madison and two in Chicago (Lincoln Park and Logan Square). The company boasts that they roast every batch by hand on a pair of vintage Probats in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood.  The stores also carry Letterbox Fine Tea, Colectivo Keg Company beers, and made-from-scratch food.
