Police Issue Alert After 3 Armed Robberies In Andersonville Last Thursday

Chicago police have issued a warning to the Andersonville area (020th district) after three armed robberies occurred last Thursday.

In each of the incidents, the male suspects displayed a gun and demanded the victim’s personal belongings as they walked on the sidewalk.

According to police, the robberies occurred in the area between Foster to Catalpa and Ravenswood to Glenwood. The first incident happened at 1:30 a.m. on Thursday September 21 on the 1700 block of W Balmoral. The suspects are described as two black males, 19 – 20 years of age, 5’8″- 5’11” tall and weighing about 160-180 lbs.

The two other incidents later that day occurred at 10 p.m. on the 1400 block of W Catalpa and then another 10 minutes later on the 1400 block of W Berwyn. The suspects in both these crimes are described as two male hispanics between 19-22 years of age, 5’8″-5’11” tall and weighing about 160-180 lbs.

Chicago police are asking residents to be aware of these crimes and to pay attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area. Call 911 to report the situation with detailed description of the persons and any vehicle they may be driving with plate numbers.
