Man Gets 10 Years For Robbing 3 Edgewater Businesses Within Blocks Of His Home

On December 1 of 2018, 28-year-old Stanley Krzak was apprehended by police for three armed robberies that occurred in Edgewater within a week. Besides making a bad choice to commit a crime, he made a worse decision by selecting businesses located near his home on the 5400 block of N. Broadway. One holdup was less than a block away.

Krzak was positively identified as the suspect who held up the 7-Eleven at 1055 W. Bryn Mawr on Nov. 25 at 12:09 a.m., a Pizza Hut at 5320 N. Broadway on Monday Nov. 26 at 9:05 p.m., and the Andersonville Walgreens at 5440 N. Clark on Nov. 27. In all three robberies, he displayed a gun and demanded money from the register before fleeing the scene.

At the time of arrest, Krzak was already a convicted felon with recents incidents including two in 2017 for domestic battery and retail theft. He has been on parole since for unlawful restraint during the 3 robberies.

Krzak accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to the crimes. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison with the possibility of parole in 2023 for time served and good behavior.
