Lincoln Towing’s License Suspended But Says It Will Continue Towing

It would be difficult to find any area resident that is in favor of Lincoln Towing continuing business in the neighborhood. However, those who have sought justice after having their vehicles improperly towed have been avenged after the company has officially lost their business license effective immediately.

In a unanimous 50-0 vote this morning, the ICC (Illinois Commerce Commission) has officially revoked Lincoln Towing’s license to operate and made it clear that it is starts today.

ICC Chairman Brien Sheahan said in statement, “After an extensive proceeding during which Staff presented evidence of over 800 unauthorized property seizures by the Licensee the Commission finds, based on a preponderance of evidence, that Protective Parking Service Corporation d/b/a Lincoln Towing Service has not conducted its business with honesty and integrity, that it is – in fact – unworthy to be entitled to hold a Commercial Vehicle Relocators License.”

The ICC has been investigating the company for more than two years now. The heart of the probe occurred in an eight month stretch of time between 2015-2016 after allegations surfaced of 462 illegal tows and 369 instances of them using a unlicensed operator.

However, Lincoln Towing says they will continue to operate while they fight the decision and enter the appeals process. The company is vowing to take the matter to the circuit court if necessary.

However, ICC spokeswoman Victoria Crawford told the SunTimes that that is not the case. She said, “Our perspective is that there is an immediate revocation of Lincoln Towing’s license.”
