Who doesn’t love a good egg hunt? The annual 48th Ward Spring Fling is sure to outdo last year’s merriment with a whole new round of fun this Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.  The event will be held again this year at Senn Playlot at 5887 N. Ridge Ave.

The Spring Fling started back in 2013 when the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, the 48th Ward, Community Christian Church of Edgewater and Lil’ Buds Theatre all came together to do something special for the Holiday. Within this short period of time, the event has grew in size adding more activities and additional partners. The list of participating organizations this year has expanded to include Chicago Friends School, Edgewater Baptist Church, Families Together Cooperative Nursery School, Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and Senn Park Advisory Council.

Edgewater Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Directos Katrin Balog told EVB, “It will be more than a standard Egg Hunt because we’ve added games, crafts, and entertainment to guarantee a morning of memories for all. Metropolis Coffee Company will provide coffee and hot chocolate, Li’l Buds Theatre Company will offer games and entertainment, Families Together Nursery School will provide crafts, Wagon Wood will offer simple, interactive workshops working with reused materials, and the list goes on.”

But also expect the egg hunt to be spectacular! Balog said, “This year, thanks to Edgewater Baptist Church, attendees can even expect more eggs with the chance to enter the raffle and win a prize.” She added, “Kids of all ages come for the sole purpose of having fun, which will make the 48th Ward Spring Fling particularly enjoyable to see happen after all the planning. What’s not to love about an event with over 1,000 eggs, games, crafts, music, little libraries and more!”
