Select Whole Foods To Donate 5% Net Sales To About Face Theatre Today

about-Face_Whole-Foods-1As some corporations work to build community ties and help strengthen local business, Whole Foods has found their own unique ways of donating. On special days, Whole foods will give back to select non-profit businesses who ‘have limited budgets and big hearts’ by giving them 5% of net sales.

The latest recipient is local group About Face Theatre, a non-profit whose purpose is to advance the national dialogue on sexual and gender identity. When you shop at Whole Foods in Edgewater (6009 N. Broadway), Lakeview (3300 N. Ashland), or Halsted (3640 N. Halsted) today, August 9, you will be part of a program that could raise significant funds for the theater group.

According to Whole Foods, “The giving program supports organizations that address community issues, such as: hunger relief, environmental concerns, organic and sustainable agriculture, animal rights and welfare and social services.” They continue, “Our focus is to support innovative groups that strive to make the world a better place. To us, a better place is one where the environment is preserved and replenished, communities are strong, health is a priority, organic farming is cherished, and where all living beings are respected.”

Organizations eligible for the Community Giving Day usually have operating budgets between $500,000 to $1 million per year and need to have a substantial membership and the ability to communicate their message effectively.

The more people who shop at any of the three participating Whole Foods locations today, the more money we can raise for the talented group at About Face Theatre!
