Andersonville Retailer Capitalizes On Its Success By Moving Into New Larger Location

Running a successful small retail shop in the city is no easy feat. Yet one Andersonville retailer has found the secret to their success and has moved to a new location that will offer them a larger space and increased visibility.

Since opening in 2014, Winifred Grace has developed a very loyal customer base that seeks out the perfect handmade jewelry, apparel, vintage goods and home accessories. Now in their fifth year in business, owner Winifred Gundeck is guiding her ship into a new space at 5632 N. Clark (which is just a couple doors south) after local antique dealer Roost cut their retail space in half.

The new storefront gives Gundeck a bit more needed retail space and a larger business office  on a prominent Andersonville corner that offers more windows and natural sunlight. According the company’s management, the most important perk of the Clark St. and Olive Ave. corner space is that it will give them a much higher profile.

Winifred Grace has found their retailer niche by carefully selecting what their shoppers tastes. Catering to women in mind, the store has sought to build more than just a store but a place where customers can socialize and feel their best.

“A truly great neighborhood boutique should be more than just a place to shop,” Gundeck explained in a release.  “Our goal is for women to leave Winifred Grace feeling happier than when they first walked in – whether they purchase something or not.”

The new space will also help them to increase focus and expansion into the unique clothing lines they carry. As they move into the new season, other highlights will be made-to-order leather shoes by KJ Made, accessories from La Kaiser Jewelry,  jeans from Flying Monkey Denim and candles, and personal goods from Wood & Wax Co.

The new space opened a couple weeks ago but Winifred Grace will be having a Grand Re-Opening on Friday, October 4  from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.  A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will occur at 4:30 p.m. Bubbly refreshments, light bites, live music and a magician for the kids will all be found at the event. Attendees will also have the chance to enter to win a $100 Gift Card from the store.

Winifred Grace is open Monday – Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Thursday- Friday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m, Saturday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m and Sunday from noon- 5 p.m.
