Alderman Alerts Edgewater After 3 Shootings Over 2 Days Late Last Week

48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman released information after Edgewater was the scene of three different shootings last week over a two-day period.

The first incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday morning after a passenger was shot in a moving vehicle on the 5300 block of Lake Shore Drive. The 18-year-old victim was shot in the leg by someone in a passing car and was taken to Weiss hospital in serious condition.

Another shooting occurred on Wednesday morning as well at Granville and Kenmore damaging a parked car. No one was hurt in the incident.

On Thursday morning a man was shot by a passing car at 5861 N. Glenwood. The victim sustained a bullet wound to his abdomen and was taken to abdomen St. Francis. His condition is currently unknown.

According to the Alderman, none of the incidents appear to be connected and the victims are not residents of the area. He asks that anyone who has information about the incidents to please call Area North Detectives at (312) 744-8263.
