Three Nights, Two Days And A Whole Lotta Fun At Andersonville’s 2019 Midsommarfest

One of the Summer’s most popular events returns bringing together friends and neighbors to celebrate. Andersonville’s Midsommarfest will be held Friday, June 7 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday, June 8-9  from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Entering its 54th year, the event will kick off Friday night on Clark Street from Summerdale to Catalpa with  Rod Tuffcurls & The Bench Press on the North Stage and a Midsommarfest Drag Show at the Balmoral Pride Stage. Headliners for Saturday and Sunday on multiple stages on Clark Street between Foster and Catalpa will include 16 Candles, Catfight, The Boy Band Night, Fabitat, Dancing Queen: An #ABBASalute, Lynne Jordan and the Shivers, 7th Heaven, Soul Spectacular. Hosted by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce, the festival is expected to attract over 75,000 people this year. Attendees will be able to enjoy live music, food and drink options and unique shopping throughout the event. There will also be many free activities for families and kids.

The event will also include LGBTQ entertainment and businesses this year including a headlining performance on the Balmoral Pride stage by Broadway star Anthony Rapp on Saturday June 8 at 7 p.m. The Swedish Stage at Clark & Foster, which is sponsored by the Swedish American Museum, will feature traditional Swedish activities including a dance around the Maypole on Saturday at 12:45 p.m.

Returning this year, the VIP platform will give concert goers a dedicated space with a prime view of the stage. It will be located on Clark near the North Stage and will have elevated viewing, barstools, hi-top tables, a private bar, a private bathroom and discounted beer.  Early Bird VIP passes are available in advance for $80 for the entire weekend or $35 per day.

Admission to the event is a $10 suggested donation, with proceeds benefiting the work of the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce. A portion of the gate donations and beer sales will benefit many area non-profit organizations, including Friends of Andersonville, Friends of Chappell, Friends of Peirce Elementary, and Friends of Swift Elementary, along with Care for Real, La Casa Norte, Lakeside Pride and more.
