Police Say A Second Woman Was Violently Attacked In Edgewater Within 3 Weeks

The latest attack took place on Sept. 9 around 8:20 p.m. when an area woman was walking southbound on the 6300 block of N. Lakewood. That is when a man approached from behind and put her into a headlock.

The suspect told the victim he had a gun and demanded her possessions. After handing over her belongings, the man told her to take off her mask and perform oral sex on him. As the victim began to scream, the attacker pushed her down and fled southbound on Lakewood.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black man between 20-30 years of age, standing 5’7” – 5’10” tall, and weighing 120-135 pounds. They added he was wearing a red t-shirt and black shorts at the time of the attack.

This follows another attack that occurred three weeks earlier when a 27-year-old woman was walking on the 5400 block of N. Broadway around 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon. In that incident a thin black man between 22-32 years of age standing  5’10”- 6’1” tall with dreadlocks, approached the victim from behind and grabbed her inappropriately.

Police say the man is also wanted in connection with stolen money from a nearby restaurant.
