Keeping it local has been a way of life in Edgewater and many other Northside communities for some time now. In keeping with the tradition, The Edgewater Chamber of Commerce has announced the Northside Wedding Expo in order to introduce brides and grooms to multiple local shops and services who want to help them plan their special event.

The area offers amazing options from a picturesque lakefront to diverse businesses such as venues, salons, retail shops and more. Working with several other area neighborhoods, The Edgewater Chamber helped put together the first Northside Wedding Guide in 2015 to showcase area vendors. This year will be the first time they expand on the guide with an expo. The event will take place at three different venues which can also host your wedding party, the newly re-opened Colvin HouseFirehouse Chicago, and The Lytle House.

“This year we are coming out with a new guide in the Spring and are hosting a wedding expo featuring businesses in the guide,” said Edgewater Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Katrina Balog. “The expo is a great way for us to highlight three unique event spaces in Edgewater. Both Lytle House and Colvin House are new in the last 12 months and both are featured in Crain’s Best New Event Spaces in 2018. Attendees get to meet local vendors at each location, so they can plan their entire wedding using local, Northside vendors if they like!”

The expo will be held Sunday, April 15 from 12 p.m.  – 5 p.m. with a special VIP fashion show starting at 11 a.m at the Colvin House. A trolley will be made available to those in attendance to shuttle them to each of the three locations.

“We’re planning lots of fun demonstrations and there will be food and drink offerings at each venue,” Balog added. “We hope to expose more brides and grooms to the abundance of quality wedding vendors we have right here on the Northside.”
