Edgewater CVS Robbed At Gunpoint, Second Time In Nine Days

cvs-1The CVS store at 6150 N. Broadway was robbed at gunpoint this past Monday evening around 8:40 p.m.

According to police, the man who robbed the store held a 27-year-old employee at gunpoint and demanded money from the register. After the employee handed over the cash to the suspect, he fled in a red four-door vehicle which proceeded southbound on Broadway.

The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male between the age of 20-30, weighing around 225 to 260 pounds and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 tall. No one was injured in the incident.

The CVS store and a Walgreens on the same block were hit previously just nine days ago on November 26. The CVS Pharmacy at 6150 N. Broadway was hit at 4:19 a.m. and the Walgreens at 6121 N. Broadway was hit at 7:40 p.m. Both stores were also robbed at gunpoint.

The suspect is the Nov. 26 robberies is described as a Hispanic man between 25 and 45 years old, weighing 180 to 230 pounds, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 with brown hair and brown eyes. The gunman fled in a white four-door vehicle, possibly a Maxima or Altima.

It is not clear if the robberies are connected.
