Edgewater Area To Hold Youth Employment and Resource Event This Weekend

Helping solve the youth unemployment issue in Chicago is no easy feat. As a response to that challenge, the 48th Ward Office along with the area Chamber of Commerces plan on holding a Youth Employment and Resource Fair this weekend to help bridge kids with meaningful jobs.

The event takes place this Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Broadway Armory Park (5917 N. Broadway). The fair is free to the public and will target youth aged 14-24 who are looking for jobs and internships. With employers such as the Chicago Transit Authority, Brookfield Zoo and local Helix Cafe on hand, there is a wide range of job options for young people to get excited about.

Attendees will not only be able to meet employers looking for help, they will also be able to learn more about internship and apprenticeship opportunities. In addition, kids will get valuable feedback on their resumes and receive tips on job interview skills.
