Suspect Arrested For Attempted Murder After Shooting That Left 2 Injured

A man has been arrested by Chicago police after a shooting back in March resulted in two people being injured. That man is charged with one count of attempted murder in connection with the crime.

The incident occurred on March 19 around 8:30 p.m. near 1023 W. Argyle which is just outside the Edgewater border but still within the 48th Ward. Two men got into a quarrel which led the suspect to pull a gun and shoot at the other. That action resulted in two men being injured including one that was not involved in the conflict.

According to a statement from Ald. Harry Osterman, the offender is from the Rockford area but he did not disclose the individual’s name. He was taken into custody on the 6800 block of S. Calumet.

The Alderman thanked the 20th District police and other law enforcement who were involved in the arrest. He also stated that public safety on and around Argyle remains a top priority for his office and that they will be reopening the Argyle Satellite Safety Office in early May.
