Baker And Nosh Starts $650K GoFundMe Campaign To Help Open Their Cafes

With the shocking news that the plans for the upcoming Baker and Nosh Cafes in both Uptown and Edgewater have been possibly squashed by financial issues, the owners have started a new GoFundMe campaign with a hefty $650k goal.

According to their GoFundMe page, Baker and Nosh owner Bill Millholland was overwhelmed by the community support given towards their situation. While construction began on their new Uptown location on Magnolia and plans in the works to open an Edgewater location on Ridge, Millholland and his partner Terry Groff closed their existing Uptown location on Wilson. However, soon after the closure of the original store, the financing fell through. Work abruptly stopped at the new locations and the plans have since been in limbo.

“Believe us, it’s an aggressive goal to ask the public for $650,000 which will bring two bake shops back to reality and it’s a humbling request, as well,” said Millholland on the campaign page. “But with your generous support, we will finally be able to fire up the ovens and┬áserve the community again.”

The campaign has reached just over $2,500 in two days. Millholland said that all money raised will go directly towards ‘everything from construction and needed equipment to silverware and signage.’ Millholland promised to provide regular progress reports and milestone dates on the┬áconstruction to all donors.
