At Least One Pedestrian Dead, Others Injured After 5335 Sheridan Accident

IMG_4414Reports are still a bit unclear, but witnesses say a red Ford was trying to get around a bus heading North at 5335 North Sheridan avenue around 11:12 a.m. this morning. Somehow the red vehicle did not make it around the bus and instead plowed into  two-three parked cars at a high rate of speed in front of the Tedino’s restaurant.

According to a Care For Real volunteer, a man who was loading his car trunk with groceries from the food pantry was in the middle of the accident. His body was pinned between the vehicles and severed.  There are also reports that at least two others were taken by ambulances to local area hospitals. There has been no confirmation as of yet about their injuries.

Traffic is closed in both directions on Sheridan between Berwyn to Balmoral. Police have put up blankets to hide the deceased persons body. We will provide more info as we hear.

– CTA have rerouted buses #147 and #151 due to the accident

– One person was transported in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and three others were taken in fair condition to Weiss Memorial Hospital.

– Driver of the red Ford that struck the parked vehicles is in police custody
