The Brixton In Andersonville Closes Temporarily

One of Andersonville’s popular local watering holes and a divine eating establishment was closed over the weekend but is due to open back up for business today, Tuesday August 5. The Brixton’s Facebook page reads “We apologize for the inconvenience, beloved patrons, but the restaurant is closed due to plumbing issues until Tuesday. In the meantime send your good vibes our way and we’ll repay you with food and drink when we’re back open!

The Brixton Chicago has gotten quite positive reviews in their first several months open and made several upgrades such as a brand new hood vent to keep their famous burgers flying off the grill. It has paid off with a slew of new customers. They redesigned the second floor to make it feel more like a lounge and on any given evening their patio is filled with everyone from large groups of people to intimate dates.

Rumors are flying about whether it’s a plumbing issue, a city licensing issue, or damage done from flooding.  A small sign outside the front door reads, “Unfortunately, Brixton will be closed until Tuesday August 5th due to complications with licensing. Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to see you all next week. -Brixton Staff”. This evening a black curtain hung over the front door and the staff seemed to be working in and around the back kitchen.
