Osterman Beach’s LakeBreeze Cafe Expands With A New Lounging Area And Sunday Brunch

Since opening last year, LakeBreeze at Osterman Beach (5800 N. Lake Shore Drive) has been serving up American fare, appetizers, and cold alcoholic drinks to area beach-goers. In that time they have slowly expanded their menu and in late June started offering brunch. Now after a long anticipated arrival, they offer a new beach club for sipping your cold beverages.

The club area is a large roped off section to the side of the club that people can order their favorite drinks and food while lounging in the sand. The space features around 30 comfy chaise lounges and a fleet of umbrellas for those that require some shade.

Owner Bill Prahofer opened LakeBreeze in August of 2018. Though the late arrival gave them a short Summer last year, in 2019 they were finally able to develop the business. For Prahofer, it is all about location as he also owns Buck’s at Buckingham Fountain.

The menu offers moderately priced items including gourmet burgers and salads that can also be ordered as tacos or burritos. Their new brunch options offer a diverse selection such as waffles, french toast and donut skewers.

But the alcoholic beverages are where it’s at! They offer a selection of craft beers including Pipeworks, Half Acre, and Revolution Brewery. If you feel a little more foo-foo, cool down with a frozen margarita, pina colada or strawberry daiquiri.

LakeBreeze is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Brunch is every Sunday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
