Nookies Edgewater Will Remain Permanently Closed

After serving the neighborhood for nearly a decade and helping revitalize the historic Bryn Mawr corridor, Nookies management has announced that they will not reopen the Edgewater location.

Nookies Edgewater has been closed since late March when the pandemic took over the nation and forced local businesses to temporarily close. The 1100 W. Bryn Mawr restaurant along with the chain’s two other locations in Lincoln Park and Old Town closed on March 23, 2020.

The usual busy dining rooms at all three Nookies have been eerily quiet since then. As other businesses in Chicago began to slowly reopen with restrictions in place, the three restaurants remained closed. That caused speculations about whether they would ever again be open for business.

But those questions were answered on the company’s Facebook page. Management announced that both the Old Town and Lincoln Park locations are once again open, however Nookies Edgewater will remain permanently closed.
