Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor To Appear At Senn High For A Moderated Conversation

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor became the first Latina to ever hold a position on the high court after then President Barack Obama nominated her to the job on May 26, 2009. It has been announced that Sotomayor will hold a moderated discussion and audience Q&A on Sep 11, 2019 at Senn High School.

The event, which is being put on by the legendary Andersonville feminist bookstore Women & Children First (5233 N Clark), will take place in order to help promote her new children’s book, “Just Ask!: Be Different, Be Brave, Be You”. Attendees of the now sold out show will have the ability to purchase their choice of the English version book or the Spanish edition “Solo Pregunta.” They will then have the opportunity to have the book signed after the event.

The book celebrates the differences in us all and how that makes the world such a beautiful, vibrant planet. Drawing on her own struggle as a child with diabetes, the book follows a group of children as they ask questions about one another while they create a community garden.

This is not Sotomayer’s first publication. Shealso authored “My Beloved World”, “Turning Pages,” and “The Beloved World of Sonia Sotomayor”.
