The string of short-lived restaurants at 5413 N. Clark could finally come to end. The newest contender at the space is Kanela Breakfast Club’s newest location and they have both the restaurant experience and solid reputation to make it a success.

Now, Kanela owner Chris Lardaki and investor Alexi Giannoulias have officially set the opening date for the Greek-American inspired restaurant. This Thursday, May 5, there will be a ribbon cutting with the Kanela family and 48th Ward Alderman Harry Osterman at 2 p.m.

The event which is posted on the company’s Facebook page will include ‘small bites and beverages.’

Kanela, which means ‘cinnamon’ in Greek, offers both breakfast and lunch options. Most entrees range between $10-$13. Most recently, Chicago Eater named their breakfast Sandwich one of the area’s best. Also, Thrillest ranked them in their ‘best new Chicago brunches of 2015.’

This will be the company’s fifth location. They also have restaurants in Wicker Park, Old Town, Lakeview and Streeterville.
