Community Alert Issued After A 10 Minute Crime Spree Last Night Leaves Man In Serious Condition

Two to three men are being sought by Chicago police after shooting a man in Rogers Park and then robbing two other people in the Edgewater and Uptown neighborhoods last night. According to police, all three crimes happened within ten minutes of each other.

The incidents occurred on Thursday evening around 8:25 p.m. when a 33-year-old man was robbed and subsequently shot on the 6700 block of N. Bosworth Ave in the Rogers Park neighborhood by the group of men. That man was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston where he is listed in serious condition with a gunshot wound to his chest.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and headed south to the Magnolia Glen neighborhood in Edgewater. That is when two men stopped a 54-year-old man as he was walking home about 8:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of W. Thorndale. They demanded money and fled once again in the vehicle.

The group struck one more time five minutes later, robbing a man on the 1000 block of W. Buena in Uptown.

The men are described to be between the ages of 17-25 and between 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet, 2 inches tall.

Police are seeking the suspects for these crimes and possibly others including incidents on the 900 block of W 18th at 2:14 p.m. on Jan. 17, the 1800 block of S Morgan at 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 18, the 6100 block of N Glenwood at 11:23 p.m. on Jan. 21, and the 1100 block of W Cullerton at 12:05 a.m. on Jan. 22.
